BECOMING A WOMAN

It must be the sound of a moving car
It could have been a dog barking from afar
It starts from somewhere, I don’t know exactly
That stops my dream and then awakens me

A silent moan and some little stretch
I smile at love that’s just within my reach
Breaths in rhythm, he is in deep slumber
Being this close, now I can remember

His smell on my skin, so manly, so good
Enough to keep me warm against the cold
Cuddling each other with his arm as my pillow
He pulls me closer as if I’m about to go

The joy of giving in spite we both are taking
A piece of heaven on earth I’ve been dreaming
He taught me how when we love as one
Gone was his girl, I’m becoming a woman.
